Government committed to take Himachal to new heights: Jai Ram Thakur

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur urged the people of the state to continue their whole hearted support to the government so that the pace of development goes uninterrupted. He was addressing the “Labharthi Sammalen” (Beneficiaries Conference) at famous Zorawar ground, Dharamshala in Kangra district today.

While congratulating the Union government led by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for completing 100 days in office of its second tenure, Chief Minister said this short period has ensured several historic decisions aimed towards making India one of the most developed nation. The Central government besides ensuring India emerges as a fast mover nation, was also sympathetic and liberal towards Himachal Pradesh for its developmental needs.

Jai Ram Thakur thanked the people of the State for providing wholehearted support to the BJP in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections in which the vote share of the BJP was highest in the country while in Kangra Parliamentary constituency the vote share was highest in the country at 72 percent.

He said that it was for the first time in the history that the BJP candidates succeeded to get lead in all the 68 assembly constituencies of the state. He said that all the opposition leaders were still in shock because of unprecedented victory of the BJP in the Lok Sabha.

The Chief Minister said that the biggest achievement of the Union Government during the first hundred days in office was to scrap the Article 370 from Jammu Kashmir, thereby paving the way for one nation one Constitution. Not only this the Chandrayaan-II has ensured that World community acknowledge India as a developed nation.

He said that Jan Dhan Yojna, Ayushmann Bharat, Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna, Ujjawala Yojna etc were a few Central schemes launched by Prime Minister Shri Modi,  which were proving a stepping stone for making of a New India. He said that the State government had also launched Him Care scheme to cover 22 lakh people under health insurance who were not covered under Ayushman Bharat. He said that till date 37000 people have been benefitted under this scheme. Similarly the State government had also launched Grihini Suvidha Yojna to cover all the families not covered under Ujjawala Yojna of the Central government. The State government was endeavouring to make Himachal Pradesh a smoke free state of the country at the earliest. He said that the Union Government was also providing Rs. 6000 per annum to the farmers and had also announced pension to the small traders. 

The Chief Minister said that Sahara Yojna has been launched  in the state for providing relief to the families having a member suffering from serious illness, under which Rs. 2000 were being provided per month. He said that on the day one of assuming office the State government lowered the age limit for availing the benefit of old age pension without income limit from 80 years to 70 years. He said that the State government has succeeded in getting facility of kidney transplant at IGMCH, Shimla. 

Jai Ram Thakur said that the State government was giving top priority for development of the Kangra district which is the biggest district of the State. He said that that several tourism schemes were underway in Dharamshala and rope way would be completed by May next year and efforts were also on to construct Himani-Chamunda ropeway. He said that Dharamshala has been selected for organising the Global Investors Meet on 7th and 8th November this year.

He said that the one and a half year's tenure of the present State government had been full of achievements and accomplishments. The Jan Manch had emerged as a boon to the people of the State as all their grievances were being redressed at their door steps.

The Chief Minister honoured the beneficiaries of different government schemes on the occasion.

He also paid rich tributes to Kargil war hero Param Vir Chakra Vikram Batra, whose birth anniversary was celebrated today.

Former Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Shanta Kumar said that lakhs of people had made supreme sacrifices to free the Nation from the foreign yoke. He said that even over seven decades of independence although have ensured that India progress ahead on the path of progress and prosperity, but still lot more could have been done. The Narendra Modi government at the Centre has now ensured that dream of our freedom fighters of one nation, one Constitution and one flag was achieved. 

In-charge of State BJP and Health Minister of Bihar Mangal Pandey said that the first hundred days of the second tenure of the Union government had been full of achievements that had ensured that India regains its old glory and once again becomes ‘Vishwa Guru’. He said that the Union government has taken historic decision of scrapping Article 370 and 35A for making Kashmir integral part of India. The State government was also fast forging ahead to achieve the target of ‘Swarnim Himachal’.

Member of Parliament Kishan Kapoor said that the State was forging ahead on the path of progress and prosperity under the able leadership of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur who had been adjudged as second most popular Chief Minister of the country. He said that the one and a half tenure of the State Government has been unparalleled and unprecedented. He said that almost every section of the society had been benefitted by one scheme or other by the welfare schemes launched by the Centre and the State governments. He thanked the people for helping him win the Kangra Parliamentary seat by a record margin of 4.77 lakh votes.

Local BJP leader Narinder Atwal welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries present on the occasion. 

State BJP President Satpal Singh Satti, Urban Development Minister Sarveeen Chaudhary, Health Minister Vipin Singh Parmar, Industries Minister Bikram Singh, Deputy Speaker Hansraj, Vice Chairman State Planning Board Ramesh Dhawala, MLAs Rakesh Pathania,  Mulk Raj Premi, Arjun Singh, Ravinder Dhiman,  Rita Dhiman, Vikram Jaryal, Jai Lal and  Arun Kumar, Chairmen and Vice Chairmen of various Boards and Corporations were present on the occasion among others.
