CM announces augmentation of DWSS Pragpur

Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh today who was addressing a well attended public meeting at Pragpur in Jaswan Pragpur assembly constituency of district Kangra,  announced 25 hand-pumps for the area under IPH sub-Division Sunhet, and as per need or in the hamlets facing acute water shortage.

He announced to augment drinking water supply scheme (DWSS) for Pragpur village to overcome shortage of drinking water in the area, besides upgradation of Government High School Kloha to Government Senior Secondary School. He also announced augmentation of water supply scheme for Garli and Bhadoli-Jadid villages and directed the IPH department to conduct a survey and to report that whether the scheme could be augmented or there was a need for a new scheme.

Earlier, on way to Pragpur he announced upgradation of Primary Health Centre, Kasba Kotla to Community Health Centre, up-gradation of Government High School Tyamal to Government Senior Secondary School. He directed to construct a boundary wall, a toilet block and a kitchen for Ambedkar Bhawan in Nehran Pukhar and directed the PWD department to prepare the estimate for the same.

He said that during the election year many people come to try their luck without an agenda and they adopt shortcuts to come in power and the easiest way they find was by dividing people on the basis of caste, region and religion. We should be aware of such divisive forces, he said, adding that we should respect all religions alike as every person had a right to follow his or her own religion.

The Chief Minister said that Pragpur had been declared a heritage village and had a well enriched history and this legacy had to be carried forward. The government was committed to provide every basic facility to the people of the area.  He said that he was happy to learn that the women candidates had outnumbered men in the recently Panchayat elections and hoped that they will work better than their male counterparts.

He said that the promises made by NDA government had fallen flat and their graph was fast declining. He quipped that when we talk of development, the Opposition always criticise the same blaming that development had been shown back door in the regime of Congress government without realising that with each and  every passing  day the state was progressing and not treading backwards. No one can point a finger that Himachal was not developed, it was from the very first day of the formation of the State,  it started treading on path of development and today was the model hill state amongst others states in various sectors including Health, Education and Roads. The real credit of this unprecedented development goes to the hardworking people of the State and also to the leadership provided by successive Congress Governments at the Centre and the State.

Earlier, the   Chief Minister laid foundation stone of Baba Kanshi Ram Government Degree College building  at Dadasiba to cost around rupees  eight crore, and presently a sum of Rs 4.75 crore had been sanctioned for the same. He laid foundation stone of Administrative Block and inaugurated Science Block of Government Degree College Dhaliara to be constructed at a cost of Rs 10 lakhs and Rs  4.70 crore respectively. He also laid foundation stone of Government Degree College at Rakkar for which initial provision of Rs 5 crore has been kept.

The Chief Minister inaugurated Rs. 94 lakh LWSS to village Subhashpur and Tiamal in Dadasiba in tehsil Jaswan to benefit estimated population of 3600 by the year 2024.

Later, he   inaugurated Forest Rest House Chamukha constructed at a cost of Rs 21 lakhs and inaugurated residences of Health Department of PHC Pirsaluhi constructed at a cost of Rs 20 lakh. He opened newly upgraded PHCs  Rakkar, and  Pirsaluhi , which were made CHCs.

Vice- Chairman, Employees Welfare Board, Shri Surinder Mankotia thanked the Chief Minister for number of announcements he made in Public meeting Jandaur and dedicating projects worth crores during last three years.  While listing the developments of the area, he also urged for declaring Pragpur a Tehsil besides Separate Water supply scheme for Garli and 25 hand-pumps for Bahdoli-Jadid  besides drinking water supply scheme for Pragpur etc.

BCC President, Jaswan Pragpur, Shri Pradeep Kumar, Pradhan Pragpur, Shri Suresh Sharma, Youth Congress President, Pragpur, Shri Manoj  Sharma, and others welcomed and honoured the Chief Minister on the occasion.

Chief Parliamentary Secretary Shri Neeraj Bharti, MLA Shri Sanjay Rattan, ex-MLAs Shri Nikhil Rajour and Shri Yog Raj, Chairman, State Education Board Shri Balbir Tegta, Chairman, KCCB Shri Jagdish Sapahiya, Vice-Chairman, State Disaster Management Authority Shri Rajender Rana, Member Zila Parishad Ms. Ritu Prashar, President, Freedom Fighter Welfare Board Pandit Susheel Rattan, Deputy Commissioner Shri Ritesh Chauhan, SP Shri Sanjeev Gandhi, Chief Architect Shri NK Negi,  Chief Engineer, PWD  Shri S.K. Ganju,  Chief Engineer IPH, Shri Anil Bahri, were also present on the occasion amongst others.
