Governor visit Shipki-La defence posts, interacts with Jawans

Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, during his three-day sojourn to the district Kinnaur, today visited the Army post at Shipki-La, situated at an altitude of more than 13000 feet and the Indo-Tibetan Border Force (ITBP) post.

This was the Governor's first visit to Shipki-La. Lady Governor Janaki Shukla also accompanied him.

The Governor said that the enthusiasm of the soldiers deployed in such a difficult topography was laudable and it shows their dedication towards the Nation. "Soldiers from every corner of the country, deployed here, have only one religion and that is, the Service and Security of the Country," he said, adding that it is only because of these brave soldiers who are guarding the International boundaries, that we are secure and safe.

Commander Brigadier R.P. Singh, Head of Shipki-La Military Post, Major Joy Kapfoh, ACGD ITBP Vinod Kumar Bharti welcomed the Governor and briefed him about the arrangements on the border.
