Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh today flagged-off two new Euro-4 compliant Volvo buses,of HPTDC the first of its kind in State. The buses will ply on Shimla-Delhi route.
To ensure modern facilities to the commuters, separate USB ports have been provided with each seat for mobile/laptop charges. Besides, the passengers will be provided free wifi internet service on the go.
The Chief Minister appreciated the creative designs with images of Himachal Pradesh on both sides to promote tourism of the State.
The passengers will be able to ensure their preferred movies/songs out of multiple collections, which can be accessed on any handheld device through wi-fi network of the bus. Limited number of mobile tablets, earphones and mobile chargers will also be available in the bus, which will be given to the passengers on first come first serve basis for which no additional charges will be applicable.
The Chief Minister said that the new Volvo buses will provide more comfort travelling to the passengers.
Managing Director, HPTDC Shri Dinesh Malhotra informed that new entertainment facilities were being provided on trial basis and if found successful, these facilities would be extended in other buses of the Corporation as well.
Chief Parliamentary Secretaries Shri Vinay Kumar and Shri Rohit Thakur, Vice Chairman, HPTDC Shri Harish Janartha, Members of HPTDC BoD Shri Amarjeet Singh, Shri Surinder Sethi and Shri Gopal Krishan Mahant were also present on the occasion amongst others.
