A Government Spokesman said here today that National Committee to study the status of implementation of Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act, 2006 would visit Himachal Pradesh from 28th to 31st July, 2010. The Members visiting the State are Ms. Jarujum Ete, Dr. Arup Jyoti Salkia, Mr. Rakesh K. Dogra, Ms. Vasavi Kiro and Ms. Roma.

He said that on 28th July, 2010 the Committee would visit Rishikesh , Jyuripattan (10 AM), Jhandutta villages of Bilaspur district. It would hear the public at Municipal Committee Hall, Bilaspur at 1.30 PM.

He said that on 29th July, 2010 the Committee would hold public hearing at Tattapani Forest Rest House in Mandi district at 10 AM and added that at 4 PM it would hear the public at PWD Rest House, Tapri in district Kinnaur on the same day. On 30th July, 2010 the Committee would visit Tidong I project in district Kinnaur for field visit at 7.30AM and also meet the public at DC Office Rekong Peo at 12.00 noon on the same day.

Spokesman said that on 31st July, 2010 the Committee would meet the public of Sirmaur and Shimla at Bachat Bhawan DC Office, Shimla at 10-AM. He said that it would also hold meeting with concerned Secretaries of Himachal Pradesh Government Tribal Development, Forest, Revenue, Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Law, Deputy Commissioner/their representatives of all districts at 2.00 PM on the same day.

He further said that general public and other stakeholders could meet the Committee on 28th July, 2010 at 1.30 PM at Municipal Committee Hall, Bilaspur, on 29th July, 2010 at 10 AM at Tattapani Forest Rest House and 4 AM at PWD Rest House, Tapri, District Kinnuar on 30th July, 2010 at 12PM at DC Office Reckong Peo and on 31st July, 2010 at 10 AM at Bachat Bhawan near DC Office, Shimla.
